The Construction/Roofing Assistant reports to the Repairs Manager. This position works with our Repairs team performing Construction/Roofing Repairs and Installation, Wood Replacement, Chimney Repairs, Renovations, Carpentry. Must have a driver's license and good driving record. Shared company vehicle provided for work. Must be available to run other errands throughout the workday.

This job requires driving every day.

Meets Repairs Manager every morning for the schedule of the day.

Brings materials to job site.

Clean work areas and equipment.

Brings roofing materials to roofs and carries materials up ladders.

Maintains tools and equipment.

Provides assistance to other roofers installing and repairing roofs, flashings, and other surfaces.

Removes old roofing materials.

Sets ladders, scaffolds, and hoists in place for taking supplies to roofs.

Keeps trucks and trailer in pristine conditions; Delivers and makes runs as directed.

Empties dump trailers according to schedule and brings trailers back to the office as needed.

Qualities Characteristics Aptitude:

Must maintain Valid Driver’s license at all times (ability to be insured under company policy);

Reliable transportation to and from work

Roofing & Carpentry experience required

Integrity and Honesty.

Follows direction precisely; Eager to help others and team player; Positive, Polite.

Punctual; able be at work Monday through Friday by 7:20am to 6:00pm+/- with some occasional weekend work

Comfortable working with heights (on ladders, using body harnesses or other fall protection) and on foundations

Physical Abilities and Working Conditions:

The majority of the Repairs Assistant work will be done at construction work sites. Repairs Assistant will be exposed to varying temperatures ranges from heat 90 degrees plus to cold weather which could include temperatures in the teens, and rainy conditions. Repairs Assistant must be able to lift/move up to 90 pounds frequently. Repairs Assistant frequently performs tasks requiring climbing, crawling, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying, gripping, and moving safely over uneven surfaces. Safely climb ladders reaching up to 60 ft while carrying up to 50 pounds and wear personal protective gear correctly.
