Why Lytx? : The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, configuration, administration, and maintenance of a highly available Virtualized Windows and Linux environment.
The right candidate will have strong Microsoft and Linux enterprise administration background with a proven track record for successfully project managing technical projects with constrained timelines.
Additionally, the candidate will have strong experience in managing enterprise server hardware within a data center environment.
Duties will include non-technical aspects as well, such as periodic project management, capacity planning, management and maintenance of system documentation and training junior-level IT associates.
You'll Get to : Mixed Windows and Linux based environment experience Engineering and implementation of solutions for various project and operational needs.
Install new / rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc.
in accordance with standards and project / operational requirements. Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures, documentation and system standards Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for system administration tasks Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible vulnerabilities or intrusions, and develop mitigation plan Repair and recover from hardware or software failures.
Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies. Report on and apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.
Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures and documentation. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment. Manage anti-virus and data loss prevention solutions. Provide 24x7 Operations and Support in on-call rotation Other duties as assigned What You'll Need : Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science desirable 3 5 years Systems Administration / System Engineer with Microsoft Windows / Linux Familiarity of Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model Experience with system architecture design and implementation Experience in System / Network monitoring, reporting and alerting ELK, Grafana, Nagios, SNMP Familiarity with Networking Technologies such as routing, switching and load balancing, DNS, content delivery, virtualization and other cloud infrastructure technologies Understanding of ITIL v3 framework.
Active Directory management at a high level, including domain trusts, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, multi-sites Scripting at expert levels - PowerShell, BASH, Python, Perl, Ansible Windows Server Administration at a mid to high level, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, 2016 Linux Server Administration at a mid to high level, Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL VMWare Environment Design, Implementation, and Management Containerization technologies OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker Message queueing technologies RabbitMQ, MQTT, HiveMQ Lytx, Inc.
