RESPONSIBILITIES
The position of Human Factors Engineer provides technical expertise in human factors and usability engineering to a R&D team developing new products.
This individual will work with an in-house team and external partners to develop product designs for point-of-care IVD systems from concept to launch.
Tasks and responsibilities :
Conducts formative and summative studies of designs with customers to understand the user experience and ability to perform the test as intended.
Drafts protocols, collects and evaluates data, writes reports, and recommends design direction based on data.
Interfaces with a cross-functional project team to ensure design requirements are met and product meets quality standards.
Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development and assist in transfer to manufacturing.
Perform other duties & projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Engineering or similar field
2 years of experience in human factors and usability engineering
Knowledge of the clinical IVD testing work environment
Understanding of medical device development and design controls
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Organized and detail oriented
Ability to work in a team environment
