Position Overview:Serving the

greater Stanislaus County with 423 acute care beds, Memorial Medical Center MMC at http://www.memorialmedicalcenter.org/ provides a full continuum of care,

including:

24-hour emergency care

inpatient and outpatient surgery

specialty services in obstetrics, pediatrics,nuclear medicine, dialysis therapy, diagnostic imaging, intensive care,sleep disorders and physical therapy

a Level II Trauma Center

innovative regions in the world.PositionSummary:Primarily responsible for providing communications between

hospital staff, patients, other customers and Security Services.All calls related to dispatching service will

be documented and relayed to field officers without significant delay, existing

emergency situations not withstanding.The field officer's response to calls and other activities are expected

to be recorded in a timely and detailed manner.Responsible for monitoring various alarm systems in place for the

Communications Center and taking appropriate action in response to each

activation. This role may dispatch and direct responding officers.Due to the nature of this position, the Communications Operator

may not leave or abandon this post without direct threat to life and safety.Enhances the patient experience throughout all patient or family

interactions by serving as the customer service point of contact by

demonstrating knowledge of Sutter's Health System and service offerings.Qualifications:MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

High school diploma OR equivalent education /experience

One (1) year multi-line phone experience

Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.

Able to frequently work PM or weekend shifts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Multi line phones/PBX experience in a hospital environment.

Customer Service experience.

Healthcare software applications such as Epic and AmCom preferred.

SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to work concurrently on a variety of tasks/projects in an environment that may be stressful with individuals having diverse personalities and work styles.

Ability to work and maintain confidential information.

Knowledge of basic clerical procedures.

Ability to read, write, hear and verbally communicate in English to the degree required by the job.
