POSITION: Laboratory Coordinator

LOCATION OF EMPLOYMENT: 57 E. Shank Road, Brawley, CA 92227

DUTIES: Assist biological laboratory testing of organic substances to investigate the growth, structure, development, and other characteristics of microscopic organisms. Set up, operate, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment. Assist laboratory personnel with isolating, identifying, and preparing specimens for examination; prepare media; record data and analyze findings. Monitor laboratory work to ensure compliance with set standards (ISO 17025). Prepare for and participate in internal and external quality control audits and respond appropriately. Monitor laboratory equipment and supplies. Communicate with clients. Supervise 2 peers.

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires at least a Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biochemical Engineering or a closely related field, and 2 years of experience (any title) engaging in food sciences analysis, including biological and chemical testing of raw plant and animal materials in a food product laboratory, and ensuring compliance with ISO standards.
