This exciting Packaging Engineer position will support growth in a fast-paced prestige skin care consumer products company.

Responsibilities include the development of packaging for new product launches and business continuity programs for the Brand.

One major focus of this position is to provide supplier quality development direction for vendors of packaging components and Third-Party Suppliers (Contract Manufacturing Organizations).

This candidate will fully support the company's mandate to present a consistent outward facing image as a prestige brand.

You will be motivated by learning more, working with cross functional teams, and knowing the importance of attention to detail, especially within development.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Complete Technical Profiles and Specification for new and existing products, as needed.

Define specifications, defect ranges and design criteria to facilitate an optimized process flow from component manufacture thru fill and assembly.

Track approvals and documentation needed to prepare complete specifications

Support Package Development to ensure each new program has value analysis built in. Ensuring construction, design and assembly provide cost effective solutions along with the best quality and function.

Work with Suppliers to achieve objectives.

Develop preliminary packaging cost options for new product launches, value analysis ideas and packaging revisions where a technical solution is required

Review and set Quality criteria and ranges for packaging components and master standards.

Compile samples, quotes, and specs needed for internal testing and pre-production batches

Development of cartons and shippers, resulting in the specifications for each Prepare timely and accurate Bills of Material and Assembly Instructions

Other duties as assigned to support day to day operations

Education and / or Experience :

The successful candidate will bring key skills, characteristics and experiences :

BS in Package Engineering, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering

1-3 years of experience in package development, supplier quality, or assembly / manufacturing environment

Candidate with direct QA / QC experience or Technical Package Engineering is preferred

Excellent organizational / time management skills, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work independently

Creative and problem-solving skills

Able to work effectively within a team and communicate at all levels of an organization

Proficient in MS Office, Excel and Power Point. Some CAD experience a plus

Require excellent communication skills both written and verbal

Strong work ethic, demonstrated ability to work under pressure

Technical Knowledge :

Appropriate knowledge of materials and processes used in the manufacture of consumer packaging components. Candidate will have knowledge of, preferably experience, with :

Extrusion Blow Molding

Injection Molding

Dispensing Systems

Glass Manufacturing

Decoration techniques for both primary and secondary packaging

Secondary packaging : folding cartons, enclosures, set- boxes, corrugated
