We are currently looking for a Lifestyle Director for our Memory Care department!

Position Requirements :

Able to communicate written and orally in English.

Within 30 days of hire be certified in CPR and First Aid

High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of two years’ experience with Dementia care or in a Dementia related environment

Have 3 years’ experience in conducting group activities and events or completed CA Activity Certification course and at least 2 years of related experience.

Current Class B drivers’ license, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Cares Dementia Advanced Care Certification, preferred

Must have strong organizational skills including ability to follow-up, detail-oriented, ability to multi-task.

Must be able to push / pull up to 40 lbs, lift up to 35 lbs.

Responsibilities

Develop and publish a monthly activities calendar and newsletter appropriate for memory care residents.

Supervise, manage, train, coach and counsel the Compass Rose caregiving team for active participation by all team members in the daily programming.

Actively participate in each resident assessment and care conference with the CR Program Director.

Manage and monitor department budget including ordering and maintaining of appropriate supplies.

Plans, directs and coordinates volunteer program. Develop and train a network of community and resident volunteers to assist in planning and preparation for activities and events.

Routinely analyzes effectiveness and customer satisfaction of events and activities provided to ensure the activities are meeting the needs of the residents.

Assists in the formulation and facilitation of a resident council meeting (if invited by residents) with participation by volunteer family members when possible, document and provide follow up to issues and concerns.

Plans, coordinates and participates in a variety of dementia appropriate activities, social events and outings for residents, which promote and address the outcomes of Successful Aging philosophy to include physical and mental stimulation, spiritual needs, social engagement and lifelong learning.

Encourage resident participation to develop and maintain residents’ fullest potential through planned activities

Interview new and existing residents and their family members to find their interests.

Document and develop programs that appeal to all residents.

Educate residents through classes or guest speakers in such subjects as travel, health, current events, and other self-help topics

Arrange for religious services in the community and / or coordinate transportation and escorts then appropriate.

Coordinate and conduct outside activities including scenic drives, luncheon and dinner outings, performing arts and cultural exhibits, etc.

Offer physical exercise activities and group exercise programs designed to improve strength, balance and flexibility.

Offer activities designed to maintain brain fitness including reading, cards / games, puzzles, Wii, and other mind-challenging games.

Help to coordinate community special events open to families and friends

Primary driver for community to provide transportation for residents.

Development and facilitation of a monthly Dementia Support Group Meeting within the community. To include development of a 90 day calendar of speakers for those meetings.
