Key Responsibilities

Functions as a technical specialist. Performs all aspects of substation design engineering and analysis work on existing substations.

Creates one-line drawings, schematic drawings, panel wiring drawings, and equipment wiring drawings. Designs physical layout, grounding, and conduit design for 4kV to 500kV substations.

Performs detailed analysis, studies, and calculations to support design activities. Prepares cost estimates, scope of work, Bill of Materials, and coordinates the procurement of all equipment.

Coordinates engineering work with in-house and remote office technicians and engineers. Provides support to clients with engineering design feedback and construction support.

Reports regular project updates to supervisor. Attends job walk and scope review meeting with clients as needed. Provides construction support to the client as needed.

Performs the role of a supervisor for a direct Electrical Engineer report. Performs quality assurance check and reviews the work of other designers and subordinate engineers.

Coordinates with personnel in other departments / offices to review designs, resolves areas of concern, and responds to the request for proposal from the clients under the supervision of the supervisor.

Management Responsibilities Preferred Qualifications Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related field plus three years of related experience. Related experience must include : Substation design using AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Bluebeam, CRT Dashboard, CDM Library and Design Manager.

Must have experience with protection and control electrical engineering work for substations, including substation physical layout design, grounding and conduit design, electrical system operation, SCADA Automation, and associated system design.

Must have experience with applicable codes and standard for substation projects, including NESC, NEC, and IEEE. Must have good written and verbal communications skills in English.
