The AR / VR Product Marketing team is seeking a leader who is passionate about building and marketing innovative social VR products and experiences that inspire meaningful human connection, creation and self expression, and encourage new audiences to discover VR.
This position will lead a team responsible for product marketing of first party social VR products (e.g. Facebook Horizon) as well as social features across the Oculus platform.
Our ideal candidate is analytical and creative and can lead a team responsible for both strategy and execution. They are a strong people manager but not afraid to dive in and support the day to day work.
This product marketing team is focused on the inbound phase of product marketing and the strategy that informs outbound marketing with internal partners.
This role will be deeply embedded with the product team but represent the perspective of marketing and voice of the consumer within product development.
In this role, you will help define the future of VR social interactions, creating breakthrough promotion and narratives for VR social content, and leveraging the growing Oculus social platform to delight and retain users.
Responsibilities
Lead a product marketing team responsible for inbound product marketing across social VR products including Facebook Horizon and social software features across the Oculus platform.
Partner with Product Management and broader marketing teams to lead successful product marketing communications around test and launch phases and clearly communicate value propositions of new products to go-to-market and brand teams.
Develop scalable new marketing and product communication strategies for delivering VR software as a service that grow and engage the Facebook Horizon community.
Leverage quantitative and qualitative insights from research and analysis to influence product strategy and inform positioning, go-to-market plans, creative assets, and campaigns.
Partner with other content leaders to inform the long term VR content strategy.
Lead across the company by forming partnerships with product, marketing, legal, and PR peers across the Facebook family of apps.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors Degree
12+ years of experience in product marketing and / or product management
8+ years of people management experience
Experience developing and marketing social consumer experiences, services and / or platforms
Experience creating market requirement documents, including audience definition, positioning statements and value propositions
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team
Experience bringing new products to market
Balance of creative and analytical thinking, putting forth best-in-class execution within a measurable and data-driven framework
Experience working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and fluid environment, adapting, spotting issues early, and escalating
Knowledge of Virtual or Augmented reality
