In this position you will have the following responsibilities :

Advise and consult as a resource to the Primary Care clinic Providers and caregivers. May also provide consult services to other specialties upon request

Demonstrate knowledge of all applicable compliance and legal requirement of the job based on the scope of practice of the position

Deliver upon the service expectations of both our patients and caregivers by listening to their needs; engaging in positive interactions;

and following through on promises made in a thoughtful, efficient, timely and courteous manner so that their total outcome is better than expected

Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients

Work in a safe manner, adhering to general safety precautions and standards. Reports any unsafe conditions to their supervisor and / or manager

Evaluate and treats patients with mental health and substance abuse disorders

Evaluate patients using appropriate DSM IV criteria

Triage patients to appropriate levels of treatment and facilitates referrals where indicated

Treat patients using a variety of brief psychotherapy techniques where indicated, including crisis intervention, cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, family, marital and supportive approaches

Facilitate referral to hospital or chemical dependency services where indicated

Collaborate with clinic psychiatrists and physicians to provide the most appropriate treatment plan

Maintain appropriate clinical records

Complete evaluation forms provided by carve out mental health insurance carriers in a prompt and timely manner so as to support the needs of our billing department

Facilitate credentialing needs by completing credentialing materials promptly

Discuss progress toward goals with patient

Use appropriate reporting mechanisms as required by state laws

Respect the dignity, confidentiality and privacy of patients

Obtain appropriate authorizations and consents for treatment

Provide sufficient information to allow patients and their families to participate in the patient’s care

Provide educational resources to the patient / family as appropriate

Obtain ongoing education consistent with level and area of practice

Maintain current California state licensure / certifications. Maintains Clinical Education requirements to maintain licensure

Participate in Quality Improvement audits annually

Qualifications :

Required qualifications for this position include :

License in the State of California to practice independently as a Psychologist (PhD or PsyD), Social Work (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Mental Health Counselor (LPCC)

Maintain Clinical Education requirements to maintain licensure

Proficiency with MS Office : Outlook, Internet, Word and Excel

Preferred qualifications for this position include :

At Least two years (2) of clinical experience in the provision of behavioral health services to a wide range of patients, with some experience in integrated behavioral health services settings.

A preferred skill is providing clinical services in Spanish to meet the needs of the local community.
