Job Description

To support our ongoing development, we are looking for an experienced Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Program Manager with strong communications skills and a real desire to help others. You will be responsible for collaborating across the company to build and execute DEI strategies for our workforce and workplace culture at Lakeshore. Reporting to the COO and having a strong partnership with the CEO and our executive team, the individual in this position will serve as a champion, change agent and subject matter expert, acting as a strategic partner and trusted advisor in building diversity and anti-racism strategies at Lakeshore within our organization and with the customers and organizations that we impact.

A day at Lakeshore looks like this: Develop and implement diversity and inclusion strategies in partnership with the executive team, HR/People team and DEI Committee, as they relate to recruitment, performance management, leadership development, internal communications, employee engagement and retention Enact measurable and meaningful DEI goals and metrics and report on progress Influence decisions related to people practices and HR priorities through compelling data and analysis Lead or co-lead the DEI Committee; create structure, accountability, governance and goals Guide Lakeshore’s informal Employee Resource Groups into powerful resources for employee engagement and empowerment Audit and recommend improvements on internal practices including hiring, compensation, recognition and performance review process Create and provide learning opportunities and support goals within Lakeshore related to anti-racism, diversity, equity and inclusion. Design and deliver training programs—function -specific and company-wide; partner with external vendors to provide training opportunities as needed Support product development and customer-facing teams in ensuring that Lakeshore’s products are contributing to educational equity Develop programs in partnership with sales and customer service to support members of underrepresented groups Build alliances with other institutions to improve diversity and anti-racism across the industry

Qualifications

Here’s what we’re looking for: Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred or minimum 4 years of relevant work experience 1-2 years of experience and a proven track record of success developing diversity programs, strategies and learning opportunities Fluency in the cultural and psychological issues around diversity and a strong understanding of industry best practices and innovative thinking around DEI Proven ability to measure the impact of learning and DEI initiatives and use data and metrics to make recommendations Ability to work through ambiguity and facilitate progress towards actions and decisions Proven ability and strength to lead across functions, through influence Passion about creating equity in education in the U.S . Intermediate-level knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office 365 suite (Word, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint, etc. Superior written and verbal communication skills Candor, maturity and dependability handling sensitive information
