Your CareerAutoFocus primarily deals with large amounts of data that is normalized to find threats and orchestrate responses quickly, thus allowing security operations teams to speed the analysis of massive data sets. We're building the foundations of the next inflection point in the security industry by combining our deep expertise in security with the state of the art in large-scale infrastructure for data processing and machine learning (Think exabytes of data).As a Principal Big Data Engineer on the AutoFocus team, you will be working with highly motivated software developers that thrive on solving challenging problems. You're responsible for building large-scale distributed software systems in Java, Go, Python, and other languages using open source technologies like Hadoop, Kafka, Redis, Spark, Flink (and other proprietary technologies).

Your Impact

  • As a Principal Engineer, you will be an integral member of the AutoFocus, team responsible for design, development and architecture
  • Design and implement different architectural models for our scalable data processing, as well as scalable data storage
  • Build tools for proper data ingestion from multiple heterogeneous sources
  • Be both a deep technical leader and hands-on expert for Opensource development tools being used to build the Application Framework
  • Contribute to the overall growth of the team by providing valuable feedback during design and code reviews
  • Contribute to the growth of junior members in the team by collaborating with them frequently and via feedback
  • Project management, tracking, and delivery

Your Experience

  • Master’s degree in computer science or related fields
  • 7+ years overall Software Development experience with 3+ years in developing large scale big data projects and/or distributed systems
  • Hands-on experience with an object-oriented language like Java or C
  • Hands-on experience with Go is a bonus
  • Ability to contribute technically to design and development
  • Ability to communicate with research teams and data scientists, finding bottlenecks and resolving them
  • Ability to adapt to conventional big-data frameworks and tools with the use-cases required by the project
  • Great communication skills and ability to work smoothly with multi-functional teams
  • Hands-on experience working with large scale data ingestion, processing and storage
  • Hands-on experience with the Hadoop ecosystem, Spark, non-relational databases (NoSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra), messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
  • Hands-on experience withcloud infrastructure services such as GCP is a bonus.
  • Comfortable building automation systems for quality control, builds, monitoring, and alerting
  • Able to handle all operational aspects of the system
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, testing frameworks
