With the goal of increasing voter participation in mind, our national political and organizing consulting firm is hiring a part-time Voter Registration Administrative Assistant to help with quality control for a voter registration drive. You'll be part of a team of detail-oriented people doing the administrative work behind the scenes to make voter registration drives successful. Position starts immediately.
Role and Responsibilities:
Position is remote. Hours will be approximately 15-30 hours (3-6 days) per week.
Responsibilities include:
-Visual inspection of voter registration cards to determine accuracy and completeness
-Verification calls to newly registered voters to ensure accuracy of data
-Detailed note-taking on the results of visual inspections and verification calls
-Calls to eligible voters to walk them through the voter registration process
Requirements:
Strong keyboarding/typing skills
Comfortable working with a variety of database, spreadsheet and calling software
Access to a personal computer with Google Chrome (Must be able to pass performance test, cannot be a Chromebook)
Access to a private and quiet space to make calls
Data Entry experience a plus
The ideal candidate is:
-Motivated to increase voter participation among communities whose voices are often silenced
-Self-starter and highly dedicated independent worker
-Extremely detail-oriented
-Knowledgeable about voter disenfranchisement
-Highly organized
-Adaptable and eager to learn
-Comfortable and skilled at communicating with voters over the phone
-Fluent in a language other than English, especially Spanish
Compensation: $15/hour, $50 monthly Internet Stipend, Healthcare
