At Headspace, Experience Design is a budding discipline with the goal of designing desirable and intuitive experiences across mobile, web, and emerging platforms.

This includes developing thoughtful ideas and enthusiastic opinions about things like usability, design, and technology.

You have experience in and a passion for designing for behavior change through a human-centered design lens. You are equally comfortable with conducting usability analysis directly with users as you are with facilitating a workshop with stakeholders, translating insights into actionable design strategy and deliverables.

Take deep research and broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into a useful and valuable experience strategy and early design concepts that deliver on user and project goals.

You’re ego-less and objective. You receive feedback well and can iterate on your designs within a team without being attached to your iterations.

You have an up-to-date understanding of design best practices and trends, but are also comfortable exploring new paradigms in UX.

You’re a passionate advocate for user needs and will bring a spirit of member obsession as you push for delightful interactions and moments of joy.

You’re a problem solver, think big and explore divergent ideas / concepts to inspire your team and bring new ideas to the table.

You are the cross-functional collaboration glue, keen to bring together different disciplines toward a common goal.

You’re a self-starter with a curious mind and have no problem moving projects forward.

What you’ve accomplished :

4+ years of relevant work experience including demonstrated experience in designing compelling experiences that deliver on user and business needs.

Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to create user / task flows, journeys, wireframes, experience maps, low-fidelity prototypes and other UX deliverables.

Familiarity with proven and emerging tools for interface design and prototyping, including Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, and good ol’ fashioned pen & paper.

A mastery of usability principles, information architecture and design research methodologies.

Ability to analyze user feedback and activity to identify product areas requiring improvement or deeper investigation.

Basic understanding of how designs are implemented by client engineers (HTML / CSS / JS, Auto Layout, etc).

Familiarity with the design sprint process and rapid prototyping.

Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
