This position is responsible for the nursing care deliveredto patients in the ED. Utilizes thenursing process (assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, andevaluation) throughout a patient's stay in the ED, from triage todischarge / admission.

Communicateseffectively with other ED team members to ensure appropriate, timely, andprofessional care to all patients. Demonstrates ability to function safely and efficiently in high-stresssituations and in response to unexpected changes in workload.

Demonstrates knowledge of resources availablewithin the hospital and in the community. Reports to ED Director.

Qualifications

Current CA. RN license. Knowledge and skills necessary toprovide age appropriate emergent, urgent, and non-urgent care to all persons whopresent to the ED for evaluation and treatment.

Knowledge of dysrhythmias and appropriate interventions. Must speak, read and write English.

One year of acute care nursing experiencepreferred.

Current CA RN license required.

American Heart Association ACLS, BLS / CPR, PALS required.

Non-violent crisis intervention / verbalde-escalation course within 3 months of hire.

Membership in the Emergency Nurses Associationencouraged.
