Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Ready Mix Drivers for its Lathrop, CA plant.

As a Ready Mix Driver you will deliver concrete to job sites following safety and operational guidelines; check concrete for quality and size according to ticket;

and maintain courteous customer relations.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS

Work AvailabilityMust be available to work six days a week (Monday-Saturday) and occasionally on Sunday. Must be able to drive a maximum of twelve hours per day and work up to 14 hours per day as regulated by the Department of Transportation.

Safety.Maintain vehicle in a clean, organized, and safe fashionObserve all safety precautions and rules specified by federal, state, and Company regulationsReport unsafe conditions to your supervisor or contractor on job siteReport accident or incident immediatelyComplete accident report on same dayAttend required safety meetings

Wear proper work attire (hard hat, vest, safety glasses, work boots, etc.)

Pre-trip activitiesPerform walk around safety inspection of assigned vehicle (i.e. check oil, water, fuel, lights, tires, etc.

Conduct airbrake check testFill out vehicle log bookInput employee identification number into status head to go in service

Loading procedureReport to batch plant at assigned timeSpot truck under plant to receive materialVerify load size on delivery ticket to determine correct pressure setting on booster axle for proper load distribution

Quality controlVisually inspect mix for proper materialsVerify load size to ticketVisually inspect slump with the aide of slump meter and adjust slump according to ticketVisually inspect ticket to match the driver and the truckCheck ticket for special admixtures

Highway drivingDrive in compliance with traffic laws and extend courtesy to other vehicles on the roadDeliver concrete as directed by dispatch through knowledge of expeditious routes

Deliver product to customerDeliver product in a timely mannerUtilize vehicle status head signaling system

Job site operationsEvaluate safest and best way to enter the job siteAsk customer where material is needed and, if necessary, make suggestions for alternative safe dumping locationsMake decision regarding dump location based on safety considerationsHang chutes as required using proper lifting methodsUnload concrete at the job site without damage to equipment, framework, utilities, etc.

Communicate with customer per job requirements, have customer sign ticketPerform walk around inspection of vehicle after unloadingComplete wash down procedure at job site (according to customer specifications)Collect money if job is a C.

O.D.Work with customer to achieve maximum customer serviceTake customer order changes in the field

ReturnAt plant hit status head button and properly rinse out drum as neededReturn to designated plant according to ticket or dispatch instructions

End of shift dutiesWash out drum, fuel truck, and clean vehicleConduct p.m. walk around inspectionWrite up any vehicle maintenance problems in truck log bookReport problems or potential problems to ensure vehicle is operable the next dayIf it is a safety related problem contact the shop over the radio to alert them to the problem

Throughout the dayProcess required paperwork, i.e. time card, driver daily reports, and trip ticketsMaintain appearance and condition of assigned vehiclesLubricate vehicle or assist mechanics in vehicle repair

SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Valid CDL Class A or Class B with Tanker Endorsement

Will Train to operate Ready Mix Equipment
