Job Summary
As a Spacecraft Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for structural analysis of space vehicles and their associated mechanical equipment.
The systems you work on will include : spacecraft primary and secondary structure, ground support equipment and integration accommodations and pointing mechanisms & deployable structures.
Your work will ensure that our space vehicles survive their complete development and operational lifecycles, including prototyping, test, transport, launch, and long-term operations.
Job Duties Include but are not Limited To :
Perform structural analysis, including modal, static, loads generation, acceleration predictions, stress analysis, and provide feedback into maturing designs.
Perform spacecraft design, configuration, layout, and mass properties analyses
Identify and procure materials, processes, and facilities necessary to deliver a qualified spacecraft structure and components
Identify and track subsystem schedule and deliverables
Develop first-order and detailed structural models in support of mechanical design performance predictions
Develop structural qualification testing on spacecraft systems and components including test design, test conduct, data reduction, analysis, and reporting
Assist with development of part and assembly drawings to facilitate Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations
Provide and accept feedback with your technical peers
Develop and document required analysis processes.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have an active TS / SCI security clearance
Bachelor€™s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Ability to design, develop, implement, and test structure systems and / or mechanism designs for spacecraft.
Familiarity with random vibration, shock, and acoustic testing. Experience acting as test director is preferred
Working knowledge of structural design criteria including strength, stability, and fatigue
Demonstrate clear communication and organizational skills.
5 or more years of experience with spacecraft or aircraft structures design
5 or more years of experience with Search Results
Finite Element Modeling and Postprocessing (FEMAP) or equivalent finite element modeling package
