Job Summary
As a Spacecraft Propulsion Engineer, you will be responsible for mechanical design and configuration of the satellite propulsion subsystem.
Your support for the propulsion system will include : subcontract support, design and build of ground support integration and test equipment and core spacecraft propulsion design.
Your designs will ensure that our space vehicles survive their complete development and operational lifecycles, including prototyping, test, transport, launch, and long-term operations.
Job Duties Include but are not Limited To :
Perform propulsion design and configuration tasks necessary to deliver high performance satellite systems
Perform first order layout and mass properties analyses of propulsion systems
Identify materials, processes, and facilities necessary to deliver a qualified propulsion system
Perform procurement of propulsion components, author specifications and manage subcontractors and suppliers according to cost and schedule targets.
Support propulsion qualification testing on propulsion systems and components including test design, test conduct, and interface equipment for unit under test
Produce part and assembly drawings to facilitate Assembly, Test, and Launch Operations
Prepare and deliver written and oral technical presentations to company executives and customers.
Identify and track subsystem schedule and deliverables
Develop and document required design processes
Minimum Qualifications
Must have an active TS / SCI security clearance
Bachelor€™s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
Ability to design, develop, implement, and test propulsion systems for spacecraft
Demonstrate clear communication and organizational skills
5 or more years of experience with spacecraft propulsion design
5 or more years of experience with SolidWorks or equivalent 3D CAD package
