Job Summary

Millennium Space Systems is looking for a Quality Engineer to join our team!

The Quality Engineer will be responsible for identifying, resolving, and eliminating spacecraft and product manufacturing quality issues.

This position will also be responsible for initiating corrective actions with our Manufacturing and Engineering Teams.

Responsibilities

Create, improve, implement and maintain systems that will assure the quality and traceability of the incoming materials and final products

Develop, implement, and audit inspection and test plans, acceptance criteria, and process / work instructions

Interfaces and / or works closely with Design and Manufacturing Engineering, Manufacturing, Materials, Procurement and Shipping personnel on procedural issues involving design, methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the control of product quality

Analyzing organizational Customer / Internal quality metrics and performing periodic reviews to evaluate results recommending, planning & taking actions to close gaps at an operational level

Monitor all manufacturing processes through audits and daily evaluations

Facilitate root cause analysis and problem resolution within manufacturing cells

Generate acceptance test procedures

Assist in conducting annual audits and systems surveys

Continually strive to improve : testing methods, tooling, and equipment through statistical sampling

Participate as required in product development gate review meetings with launch activities including the identification of customer expectations and ensuring compliance that Quality requirements are flowed down and met.

Makes recommendations to company leadership on the implementation of process improvements on assigned program(s) or product areas.

Travel as necessary to customers and suppliers to control problem areas

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor€™s Degree in Engineering or a related field, or 10+ years of direct work experience

3-5 years of experience in quality management / quality assurance

Knowledge of product manufacturing, assembly, test and inspection processes

Intermediate knowledge of AS9100 quality standards

Working knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements

Preferred Qualifications

5-7 years of experience in manufacturing / test environment in aerospace and defense, automotive or medical equipment

Working knowledge of manufacturing and quality processes and principles

Experienced with quality systems (AS9100, inspection, FAI, PRB / MRB)

Ability to read drawings and interpret specifications
