Job Description: Engineering ManagerThis individual works directly for Sr. Manger of Operations. You will be involved in the strategic planning and execution of current and future development. Manages the engineering and maintenance, daily operations and maintenance activities. Manages the maintenance of equipment, machinery, and other functions specific to the community. Plans, budgets, and schedules of modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials and other related costs. Responsibility for establishing and maintaining health and safety standards in the communities and understanding OSHA and other federal guidelines and how to adhere.This position is anElectrical Engineering Manager IIor anElectrical Engineering Manager IIIbased on the qualification requirements, skills, experience, and responsibilities associated with this role.Job Duties:Manage and maintain the equipment and resources across four factories in one location; Optical Fabrication, Diamond Point Turning; Optical Coating and Assembly/Test.Experience as a people leader; encouraging and in support of performance management activities, goal setting, career counseling, compensation planning, and employee training and talent development while managing employee relation issues within varying levels of the Organization.Upgrade and modification of production equipmentProcurement and installation of new capital equipmentFactory equipment layoutsEquipment documentation pertaining to preventive maintenance / Lockout - Tagout procedures / equipment inventoriesRequired Skills and Experience:Minimum of 8 years of professional relevant experience in engineering management, manufacturing and/or production operations.Strong background in electronics, mechanical aptitude, ability to solve complex technical equipment problems and strong troubleshooting skills.RF Power systems experience with technical background in RF electrical design, support and troubleshooting.Experience with AutoCAD.Automation engineering (controls engineering) background with 8+ years’ of experience in the design, programming and repair of automated equipment.Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and ladder logic.Desired Skills and Experience:Prior experience with Optical coating (vacuum) and Diamond Point Turning equipment.Lead modification or upgrade projects of existing equipmentExcellent oral and written communications with ability to work with minimum direct supervisionAbility to collaborate and influence development of project objectives and goals with external customers and internal stakeholders.Experience with team building, change management and team leadership in a matrix organization.Knowledge of the optics industry.Must have strong teaming skills along with good written and communication skills.Ability to work from schematics, written procedures and oral instructions.Ability to interface with persons of multiple disciplines and job functions.Required Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Science, Math, or related fieldDesired Education:Master’s DegreeThis position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.167353Raytheon is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
