The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company.The RolesThere are three openings within this posting to align with each line of business. Each Chief Risk Officer/Business Group will report directly the CRO Consumer Lending and these leaders will leverage their experience and knowledge of risk management, business functions, products and services to provide independent, holistic risk leadership and oversight of the business. The organizational design within each business group will follow a consistent framework, while allowing customization to meet the needs of the business.These executives will lead a team of risk professionals who will ensure that Independent Risk Management (IRM) provides senior management with an independent perspective of the level of risk to which the business is exposed across all risk types. This includes exposure across compliance risk, credit risk, model risk, other operational risk, reputation risk, and strategic risk – both in aggregate and individually. The CRO/Business Group will regularly present to senior management in Consumer Lending, Risk management and Regulators on the risk position of the businesses they are aligned to.Specific responsibilities include:

Provide single point of contact to the LOB CEO for all IRM oversight to include financial and non-financial risks

Understand themes and trends across multiple risk types along with the impact of those themes and trends

Demonstrate and sponsor appropriate risk management and leadership behaviors in support of doing what is right for the customer, people as a competitive advantage, ethics, and diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Identify and escalate risk and control issues to the LOB CEO and Consumer Lending Risk Officer with transparency, in a timely manner and in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

Implement the Risk Management Framework through promoting adoption of the Risk Operating Model, setting clear behavioral expectations for risk management, ensuring clearly defined roles and accountability, and promoting a sound control environment.

Drive the execution of remediation plans and regulatory commitments, as applicable.

Regularly present to senior management in Consumer Lending and Risk, regulators and internal and external shareholders.

Oversee and actively manage risks within the risk appetite approved by the OC and the Board, oversee the continued refinement and/or development of appropriate controls, and ensure thorough and timely resolution of issues.

Promote a strong risk management culture and discipline throughout their businesses.

Advise senior business leadership regarding appropriate operations policies and processes leveraging risk management metrics/business scorecard, track performance and monitor trends across the business.

Role #1 – Home Lending Chief Risk Officer is part of Independent Risk Management and oversees frontline risk management of the Home Lending businesses. This role is being established to enhance effectiveness of Independent Risk Management oversight, creating streamlined IRM interaction with Home Lending business and a comprehensive view of risks across the Home Lending business including originations, servicing, and capital markets.

Role #2 - Auto Business Chief Risk Officer is part of Independent Risk Management and oversees frontline risk management of the Auto business. This role is being established to enhance effectiveness of Independent Risk Management oversight, creating streamlined IRM interaction with Auto and a comprehensive view of risks across the Auto business.

Role #3 – Unsecured Lending Chief Risk Officer is part of Independent Risk Management and oversees frontline risk management of both the Card and Personal Lending Group businesses. This role is being established to enhance effectiveness of Independent Risk Management oversight, creating streamlined IRM interaction with each business head and a comprehensive view of risks across their businesses. These businesses include Card, Retail services, Cobrand, Personal Lending.

In addition to understanding and challenging the current risk profile of the business, these leaders are responsible for confirming that their respective business strategic priorities align with the Company’s risk appetite and the risk management governance framework.As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will:

Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them.

Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks.

Required Qualifications:

12+ years of risk experience, financial services industry experience or combination of both

10+ years of management experience
