Job Description

The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for performing a wide range of HR-related duties on a professional level while working closely with the Payroll/Benefits Manager, Director of Human Capital, Director of Talent Acquisition and VP of Human Resources to ensure that all company policies, benefits and leave programs, recognition, training and performance management programs run smoothly and effectively to deliver maximum value to the organization. This position requires an extremely perceptive person who is capable of interacting with individuals at all levels within the organization and must be sensitive to corporate needs, employee goodwill and the business needs.

Qualifications

The duties and responsibilities of the HR Business Partner will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Administers the company leave programs, including leave approvals, employee communication, and audits. Works with management and employees to ensure the processes and programs are followed as intended and meet regulatory requirements.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.

Provides technical support on the human resources information system (HRIS).

Assists in the testing, maintenance of new or modifications to HRIS modules, and training of end-users to meet the organization’s ongoing needs.

Develops reports, including audit reports to ensure accuracy of data.Identifies process improvement and efficiency opportunities within the human resources programs and processes (both manual and system), develops, implements, and trains managers and employees on new procedures.

Assists the Payroll/Benefits Manager with benefits administration, including claims resolution and communicating benefits information to employees as needed.

Manages the company’s workers’ compensation program. Ensures the organization is compliant with all California requirements and is the primary contact for employees and management for claims. This includes all communication with external providers to review treatment notes, ask for clarification when necessary, and works with insurance carriers.

Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build engagement, increase productivity, and retention.

Provides consultation and recommendations to employees and managers in the interpretation of policies and procedures, including conducting training/educational sessions to employees and managers.

Manages and tracks all employee disciplinary actions.

Coaches, counsels, and guides managers before executing employee disciplinary actions.

Provide support to payroll as needed.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONSA bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Five plus years of HR generalist experience

Thorough knowledge of HR principles and federal/state regulations

Demonstrated experience in the administration of HRIS

Strong understanding of Microsoft Office is required. Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel is a requirement

Ability to take initiative - a Self-starter

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

Ability to analyze and resolve problems through effective customer/employee interface and communication

Must be able to work under time constraints to ensure that deadlines are met while paying attention to details. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Effective social interaction, communication, and organizational skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks efficiently

Experience in Hospice and/or the Healthcare industry is preferred but not requiredMust be able to travel to branch offices

Must have a valid California Driver's License and valid auto insurance policy

Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 20 pounds.
