Job Description
A Mud Bay Assistant Store Manager is a powerful role model that shares responsibilities with the Store Manager. They assist in the leadership of their team with a focus on success while playing a critical role in development for future leaders at Mud Bay.
Provide a happy, educational and fun experience for all who visit our stores
Contributes to a team that celebrates differences and works together in a fun environment by leading through growth and change in a positive, productive way
Lead by example, train and mentor staff to help contribute to sales growth by providing complete, holistic solutions that promote long-term health for dogs and cats.
Enjoys learning and wants to learn continuously about animal health and nutrition and leadership. Looks for opportunities to develop others.
Continuously practice great customer experience through engaging conversation that focuses on finding solutions and fulfilling our customer’s needs graciously
Perform transactions at the point of sale, cash handling and other financial procedures accurately and efficiently
Come to decisions responsibly while maintaining a clear vision of Mud Bay's mission and values
Identify, recruit and hire excellent candidates
Lead, train and work with team by holding them accountable to uphold the cleanliness, organization and attractiveness of the store
Cultivate strong relationships with team through empowerment and encouragement to help them build their career within Mud Bay
Communicate frequently to provide useful information ensuring the growth of the team’s abilities, performance and needs
Consider and anticipate the needs of the store and the team with flexibility and strategic thinking while reflecting the values and character of Mud Bay
Opens and closing the store leading the team during the day.
Delegates, empowers, and ensure the experience is happening for customers and employees
Is actively seeking to grow in position in Mud Bay
Flexibility and willing to move around locations
Ready to run a store in 12 to 24 months.
Wage Range : $19.55 to $21.75 DOQ
Required Skills
Must be 18 years or older
4+ years of proven leadership experience or equivalent in a service-oriented environment
Experience leading a team preferred
Flexibility in location and schedule
May be needed to step in and lead a shift while training
Ability to lift to 45 pounds
Competent with basic math, comfortable using computers, calculators and 10-keys
Has a passion to continuously learn about dogs, cats and small animals
Instinctively gracious : genuinely enjoys making others feel welcome
Highly accountable : follows through on commitments
Has integrity says and does what she or he believes to be right
Has good judgment makes rational, ethical decisions aimed toward long-term goals and outcomes
A self-starter, but happy to take direction and learn from others
