Evaluate existing Paint Tooling frames, racks, castings and associated processes for robustness. Improve unstable processes with stable and robust engineering solutions or processes that are self-sustaining.

Benchmark and evaluate production processes for similar products on the market or other Magna facilities and introduce best practice solutions to Decostar.

Participate fully and / or lead Decostar continuous improvement team activities as directed by the Paint Manager to ensure CI goals are met.

Coordinate engineering modifications and new projects for all mechanical installations. Ensure all work is in accordance with local and state regulations.

Assume project management responsibilities for any project assigned by Paint Management and ensure timelines are being met.

Solicit continuous improvement ideas from all Team Members.

Perform labor efficiency analysis and develop ideas and solutions to improve labor efficiency and process efficiencies.

Maintain all KOI measurable data, Develop and implement action items to improve department KOI. Hold weekly meetings with the Paint Tooling leadership team to promote inclusion of the entire team.

Manage the trade out of clean carriers and castings on the conveyor while managing the carrier cleaning contractor quality and delivery.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. A minimum of seven years of direct work-related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Must have a demonstrated understanding of mechanical equipment and operational principles of mechanical components and systems.

Must have fabrication skills

Should possess strong problem solving skills, excellent analytical skill set.
