POSITION SUMMARY :

The Maintenance Tech Supervisor will be responsible for one Shift / Team of equipment maintenance Techs in support of sustaining production.

This leader will oversee that all Equipment Preventative Maintenance and troubleshooting is successfully executed on time with the highest quality achievable.

The Supervisor will Lead and guide his team to maintain, assemble, integrate equipment and processes, powering up of and debugging of Automation Equipment.

This position includes interviewing and training of staff, ensuring projects are completed safely, on budget and on time as well as supporting the ME team as needed on production tooling.

This leader will assist to staff as needed and develop the personnel to achieve the objective. The Newark Jidoka Factory is a 24 / 7 operation and this position will report to the Maintenance Engineering Manager

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

Managing a staff of Maintenance technicians supporting a single shift of Techs.

Support Building, integration and testing of sub-assemblies and all appropriate and directed maintenance.

Ability to safely and properly use power and hand tooling

Providing hands on training to Maintenance Techs for proper tooling use, Maintenance, Preventative Maintenance and equipment assembly techniques

Working with Engineering and Developing teams to improve manufacturability of designs with Gemba experience from maintaining equipment during routine Maintenance.

Expediting material shortages to ensure highest equipment uptime.

Ensuring that all Spare Inventory is accurate and maintained for both routine and preventative maintenance.

Maintaining a safe and organized work environment both on factory floor and maintenance work areas.

Create standard work procedures for system set-up, troubleshooting and other activities as needed

Complete Annual performance reviews for direct reports

Complete daily pass down at shift end

Modification of steel, fiberglass and plastic enclosures utilizing drills, various saws and cut-off wheels. (Includes deburr and touch-up)

Drilling and taping of holes

Ability to safely and properly use power and hand tooling

Ability to read blue prints and schematics.

Wire and cable stripping, crimping and connector installation

Providing hands on training to associates for proper tooling use and assembly techniques

Ability to perform in a fast-paced, goal oriented and time-sensitive environment.

Able to work independently and complete basic problem solving

Other duties as assigned by the manager and may be asked to be included in quality activities and employee activity teams.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES :

Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time

For people managers, ensure your associates attend and complete all required trainings satisfactorily and on time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

Education and Experience (in years) :

High school degree with 8+ years of experience OR

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience OR

Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience

Knowledge and skills :

Proficient use of Word, excel and PowerPoint

Ability to read electrical schematics

Ability to decipher mechanical / engineering drawings

Physical requirements / abilities :

Must be able to lift 40 lbs. Must be able to stand for several hours.

Work may involve repetitive arm / wrist motions.

Be able to stand for 12 hours

Must be available to work extended shifts (nights and weekends)
