The Systems Engineering Specialties Dept. is seeking a Principal / Sr. Principal Logistics Engineer to join a group of talented engineers supporting life cycle sustainment in Northridge, CA .

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex missile systems alongside a multi-disciplinary team.

We are looking for an individual that is passionate, driven, a self-starter, and goal oriented. CANDIDATES MUST HAVE A CURRENT / ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.

In this position, the selected candidate will (but not be limited to) :

Analyze, recommend, and drive logistics criteria in system design, support equipment, and procedures in order to influence missile design and its support elements

Drive system readiness and availability requirements at optimum life cycle costs

Identify levels of repair, damage tolerance requirements, repair times, and supportability requirements

Develop, coordinate, and conduct technical maintainability & supportability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts

Decompose logistics requirements and plan the necessary activities to meet them

Develop, review, update, and approve various artifacts as it pertains to logistics engineering

Identify technical issues, propose solutions, and ensure appropriate action is taken to resolve the technical issues

Participate in and lead applicable meetings with both internal and external stakeholders

This position can be filled as a level 3 (Principal) or a level 4 (Sr. Principal). Basic qualifications for both levels are listed below.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications for a Principal Logistics Engineer (level 3) :

BS in a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, MS with 3 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 0 years of experience

Current / active Secret clearance (or higher) that has been received / adjudicated within the past five (5) years.

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Strong knowledge of and experience in life cycle logistics

Experience writing reports, plans, technical publications and other materials

Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and customers

Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Logistics Engineer (level 4) :

BS in a STEM degree with a minimum of 9 years of relevant experience, MS with 7 years of relevant experience, or PhD with 5 years of relevant experience

Current / active Secret clearance (or higher) that has been received / adjudicated within the past five (5) years.

Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Strong knowledge of and experience in life cycle logistics

Experience writing reports, plans, technical publications and other materials

Proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and customers

Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal of military weapon systems

Human systems integration / human factors engineering experience

An understanding of life cycle cost modeling

Familiarity with logistics tools such as COMPASS

Experience in military maintenance and sustainment support

Experience developing Package, Handling, Storage, and Transportation (PHS&T) documentation, Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Logistics Support Plan, Maintenance Support Plan, Demilitarization and Disposal Plan, and tech pubs / training documentation

Project management experience

Engineering leadership experience
