The nurses in the Intensive Care Department of the George Washington University Hospital (GW Hospital) are Defining Medicine through their capacity to think, research, discover, evaluate, teach, learn, refine, and innovate.

We are seeking experienced RNs for our Intensive Care Unit who want to thrive in an environment that is focused on the care of the individual, families, and communities.

You will be able to be part of a team that helps in multiple Intensive Care Units consisting of numerous specialties including cardiothoracic, cardiovascular, neuro trauma, and medical.

GW Hospital has various designations that bring with in complex patients : Level I Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, ECMO center, Bariatric Center of Excellence, Renal Transplant Center.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Act as a liaison for patients and the families of patients

Respecting the rights and beliefs of patients

Monitor care that patients receive by offering assistance and interceding for patients in situations that require action immediately

Represent the patient according to their choice

Provide support and education that will help patients and care partners make the best decisions possible.

Integrates a patient centered approach involving the patient and family into the plan of care.

Provide safe, competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU

Passion to treat a diverse and acutely ill population :

Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program; BSN preferred.

Critical Care experience required : 1 year full time experience or 3 years part time experience
