DescriptionRobert Half Accountemps is seeking a Bookkeeper for our HVAC client in West Sacramento! The Bookkeeper is responsible for overseeing the General Accounting and Financial Reporting functions and the financial services area including Credit, A/R and A/P, tax prep, and all financials. To apply, submit your resume directly to Halle Carolo at halle.carolo@officeteam.com!Responsibilities and Expectations Include: This is a hands-on position, not directing a department - you will be doing the work and will have an accounting clerk to help with the basics. Must be highly skilled and proficient in job costing and assisting with pricing of items, best practices for figuring costs, and net profit for jobs. Perform accounting for various transactions of the business and ensure they are properly accounted for and accurately reflected in the financial statements. Analyze financial data and use independent judgment for purposes of identifying variances, when possible resolving accounting operating system issues, compiling statistical information and developing procedures to improve current processes. Candidate must be known for their attention to detail, successfully managing time and competing priorities, with outstanding organization and documentation skills. Appraise the organization's financial position and issues internal periodic reports on organization's financial stability, liquidity, and growth. Candidate should have experience managing QuickBooks, bank accounts, and entities, and able to do everything from basic accounting functions in QB (bank recs, JE, etc) to complex reconciliations and journal entries. Ensure financial policies, procedures, controls and reporting are in compliance with GAAP. Prepare, analyze, and present financial statements to management. Do monthly bank and credit card account reconciliations for each account. Ensure timeliness and accuracy of job cost reporting. Provide administrative and accounting support to owner, executive team, and project managers with complete discretion, professionalism and follow through. Suggest pro-active steps to improve cash flow, processes and controls, cutting overhead expenses and utilizing employee strengths. Ensure company business licenses, certifications, insurance policies/renewals and other customary business requirements are current. Maintain positive relations with customers, vendors, suppliers, and other consultants as required. Candidate will prepare / supply supporting documentation to third-party firm for the annual taxes for multiple entities.
