Job Description

Job Summary:

Join the team responsible for testing our computer-assisted surgical system! THINK Surgical, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a Software Test Engineer who has the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced startup environment. You will collaborate with other test engineers to analyze software and develop, maintain, and execute test protocols for application software used in our robotic medical device.

Travel Requirements: 0% - 5%

Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with other test engineers to develop strategy for testing application software
  • Design and implement appropriate test protocols
  • Ensure test protocols are properly documented, following company SOP’s
  • Work with development engineers to increase testability of software
  • Participate in design and requirements reviews
  • Participate in improving test engineering best practices, tools, infrastructures and processes

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in a software testing role in a medical device company
  • Bachelors in Computer Science
  • Ability to program in one of the following: C, JavaScript, Perl, Python
  • Demonstrable familiarity with international standards IEC 62304, ISO 14971, and FDA guidance documents
  • Ability to design test cases for large functional areas
  • Experience working in Linux environment
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing business needs
  • Excellent work ethic and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and applicable Quality System Standards.

Preferred qualifications:

In addition to the basic qualifications, the ideal candidate would possess:

  • 5+ years’ experience in roles of increasing responsibility
  • Masters in Computer Science
  • Solid experience programming in C in a Linux environment
  • Experience preparing test documentation for 510(k) and CE Mark submissions
  • Experience working with commercial test automation tools (Squish, Ranorex, Silk) or building custom test harnesses in a Linux environment
