The Production Operator position in Brunswick is responsible for the production of wound care dressings using various processes and production equipment. This is a full time second shift position. You will ensure that the product is finished in a timely manner and up to quality standards. You will work as part of a team to meet all key performance indicators in a safe and efficient manner.

Qualifications:

High School Graduate

6+ months of experience working in a manufacturing environment, clean room experience is a plus

Good mechanical skills

Experience of working in an ISO controlled and/or FDA regulated environment beneficial

Great team player

Mechanical or electrical engineering background is a plus

Ability work in a fast paced manufacturing environment

Hours:

Full time

1st shift: 2:00 pm - 10:00 pm, M - F

PURPOSE OF POSITION

This position is responsible for the production of Advanced Wound Care dressings via the operation of a number of manufacturing processes on a range of production equipment.

The main purpose of the role is to operate the equipment in such a way that all Key Performance Indicators are achieved across a balanced scorecard including; the achievement of all quality standards, safety targets, cost measures, and customer service objectives.

A key and integral part of this role is proactive engagement in the continuous Improvement culture, systems and methodologies in operation in the business.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The effective day to day operation of the various production processes and equipment.

Operate within all company procedures and standards.

Work in a manner that protects the safety of both yourself and all others on site.

Work to the plans and schedules required to fulfil the manufacturing plan, in line with our customer service requirements.

Maintain the equipment as required by the maintenance schedule and request maintenance orders for any corrective work identified.

Complete accurately all transactions as required within our SAP and other IT systems.

Complete all paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Contribute positively to the manufacturing team with improvement ideas and participate and lead (as appropriate) in improvement activities.

Ensure good communication with other team members and line management.

Participate in the training and coaching of others as required.

Maintain a clean and organized workplace in line with 5S principles and practices.

Participate in working in other functional areas of the business as required e.g. Quality, Production planning, R&D, Engineering.

Supports the effort to implement best practices within job scope; expected to participate in activities designed to improve production, quality and safety.

Performs other duties as assigned by manager

KEY DECISIONS

Determines when key parameters are falling outside of acceptable tolerances and when to make appropriate corrective actions.

Decide when issues require escalation

Decide when plant and equipment needs to be stopped for quality, safety or cost reasons.

Communicates with team when additional help/support from support functions is required.

COMPETENCIES

Good mathematical skills and data interpretation and analysis is required including use of graphs, trends etc.

Good mechanical skills and mechanical aptitude and ability to make highly accurate machine adjustments preferred.

Good PC and IT systems skills, including use of HMI units on machinery, SAP transactions and data input preferred.

Ability to read and understand operational procedures and complete all required paperwork to a high standard of accuracy and in a timely manner.

Ability to analyze production data and determine course of action based on facts and data.

The ability to understand process flow charts.

Good fault diagnostic skills utilizing root cause analysis techniques and the ability to identify and implement corrective actions.

The ability to understand the manufacturing process and the technical properties of the products.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications

Associates degree in preferred. .

Good communications skills and experience of working in a team-based environment.

Experience working in a manufacturing environment a plus, preferably in a fast moving consumer goods or medical / clean room process.

Experience of working in an ISO controlled and/or FDA regulated environment beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications

Mechanical or electrical engineering a plus

ANY OTHER INFORMATION

Hours of work will normally be 40 hrs per week based on Monday to Friday working schedule.

Start/Finish times may vary with the needs of the business and shift working is an integral requirement.

Shift patterns will change in line with the business requirements

Overtime may be required on occasion and employees will be expected to work additional hours when required.

High standards of attendance and punctuality are required together with high levels of employee cooperation and a positive working attitude.

The functional demands of this position require working around or near equipment that may be hazardous to individuals with pacemaker equipment

Ability to wear a respirator.
