The Staff R&D Engineer for Product Development is responsible for designing and developing implanted medical devices and delivery systems.WHAT YOU’LL DO· Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates medical device implants and delivery systems.· Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.· Investigates and evaluates existing technologies.· Reviews or coordinates vendor activities to support development.· Participates in the development of less experienced staff by setting an example, providing guidance and work direction, and offering counsel.· Participates in determining goals and objectives for projects.· Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.· Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting deigns, methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.​EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRINGRequired

Bachelor's degree in a technical field, preferably mechanical or biomedical engineering.

CAD experience required (SolidWorks preferred).

Minimum of eight (8) years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Familiar with common materials and practices to produce medical devices (injection molding experience preferred).

Experience with GD&T, stack-up analysis, and mechanical testing.

Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

Will perform this job in a quality system environment.

Has broad knowledge of various technical alternatives and their potential impact on the business.

Preferred

Medical implant design experience preferred.

Advanced degree preferred.
