POSITION SUMMARY
Duties include, but are not limited to, installation, maintenance, and repair of PV and solar thermal equipment on roofs and ground mounts: building ground mounts, installing trackers, inverters, battery banks, balance of system devices, wiring (but not connecting wires), and plumbing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Lead Installer and crew with solar PV installations in laying out racking components, assembling and installing racking, squaring and tightening mounting hardware, running conduit (both exterior and in attics and crawl spaces), installing and setting panels, grounding, pulling wire, and performing voltage testing. Does not make any wiring connections.
Performs maintenance and repair of solar PV and solar thermal systems.
Follows all OSHA and company safety requirements.
Follows all company operations standards and processes.
Gathers materials at shop and ensures work truck has the appropriate tools and safety equipment before each job.
May drive work truck on occasion if requested and approved by management.
Cleans work truck
Assist with general site preparation and continuous job-site clean-up.
Participates in regular safety training. Informs management of any safety hazards.
Maintains a neat, clean appearance and a professional, courteous demeanor at all times; communicates with the customers in a positive manner.
Stays up to date as renewable energy technology evolves.
Consistently exhibits conduct that will preserve and enhance the excellent reputation that APG solar has earned over the years with customers and in the community.
Is punctual and reliable.
Takes pictures of the projects, gets pictures taken with customers, and records customer testimonials whenever possible, shares them with marketing support staff.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Genuine interest in the Renewable Energy Industry; Enthusiasm for Solar;
Experience in Construction Plumbing, Electrical, or Roofing with a clean Safety Record;
Direct Experience in PV or Solar Thermal System Installation, or both, Preferred;
Commitment to performing top-quality work while observing the best safety practices at all times;
Willingness and ability to follow written and verbal instructions precisely;
Clean driving record and a current California driver's license;
Ability to work well in a small team environment;
Ability to climb ladders plus stand and work on rooftops (single and multi-story in both hot and cold weather);
Ability to lift 75 lbs and push, pull, bend, stand, or kneel for extended periods of time;
Ability on occasion, to travel and/or work longer hours to complete a project.
