PAY RATE

Salary or $39,686.40 to $49,920.00 annually ($19.07 - $24.00 per hour) depending on experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for accurately templating projects and understanding the complete details associated with each individual project. Responsible for execution of creating job paperwork and templates that have every minute detail associated with the project for ease of fabrication and installation while meeting quality standards.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Two to four years related CAD experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. AUTO CAD EXPERIENCE IS A MUST.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

MUST HAVE A VALID/CURENT DRIVERS LICENSE! This position requires some travel with the company vehicle. Please do not apply if you do not meet this qualification.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS & TECHNICAL SKILLS

Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and are comfortable to draw in CAD Programs, Auto CAD and Key Creator. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Accuracy is 98% per sq. ft. of templated projects, in a responsible amount of time.

Representing Sol Granite in a positive manner, speaking well of your company, co-workers, homeowners and contractors.

Understanding that the template is the most important step in meeting customer expectations and making job paperwork that eliminates any assumptions that could be made by the programming department, the fabrication department or the installation department thus eliminating errors and costing Sol Granite revenue.

Maintain positive working relations and communication with shop, office, installation & sales personnel.

Report to sales department any changes or issues after template.

Responsible for understanding limitations of each stone and where seams should be placed and splash limitations.

Process shop drawing consistently and according to set procedures, using proper abbreviations.

Create and/or modify templates for fabrication.

Ability to problem solve and stop issue from becoming a call back, an oops or making the installers job unnecessarily difficult.

Responsible for laying out of the templated project to ensure enough slabs are allotted, to understand layout of stone in order to capture the veining of the stone on the seamed pieces and to determine seam placement for both beauty and functionality (considering the type of stone and the fragility of the stone).

Analyze jobsites for installation issues, bring any issues that would prohibit meeting customer expectations to their attention and or issues that would create opportunity for mistakes in fabrication or installation.

Confident communication with the contractor or the homeowner that is concise, clear and professional.

Taking complete notes on template paperwork that will aid Sol staff with customer for resolution and that will eliminate issues in the shop or the field.

To be eligible for advancement one must possess the ability to teach, have a positive team minded attitude, demonstrate leadership skills, Installer skills and Fabricator II skills.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

No direct subordinates in the template department at this time, however this is a lead (CORE) position at Sol, this means that with advanced knowledge you are responsible for communicating with Installers, sales staff and Production Supervisor about details to make the project run smoothly.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The position will require the following physical activities on a regular basis; Standing, sitting, walking, talking, hearing and handling. There are no special vision requirements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.

The typical noise level for this job is moderate
