Senior Software Engineer - System Integration

Job Description

The Marketplace & Logistics team is the entry point for millions of merchants from all over the world who interact and sell through our platform. We deliver on many large scale initiatives which include integration, payment processing, logistics and fulfillment, and tracking to name a few. Whether it be delivering a platform to onboard new merchants in new geographies, improving our returns process, or scaling our logistics practice to process more than 3 million transactions per day, you will be able to impact the business on a global scale.

We release new code daily to ensure that engineers are able to iterate quickly, andmake an impactimmediately.They work on building features from the database level to the client. • Lead project requirements through V1 launch and V2 iterations

• Build complex software systems that integrate with multiple external systems

• Architect, implement and maintain new, big data service that processes hundreds of millions of package tracking data in daily basis

• Experience building highly-available distributed systems

• Knowledge on integrating data from a large number of services.

• Know how to optimize for scalability, performance, maintainability as needed

• Perform API integration and maintenance with multiple external services

• Optimize for short-term execution and plan for long-term technical capabilities

Qualifications

• Excellent software design skill with experience in Python, Go, and/or Java

• Strong background in one or more of the following areas: machine learning, recommendation system, search ranking, or data mining

• Passionate about working with large amounts of data and ability to translate insights into business recommendations

• Experience with different big data frameworks, includes Hadoop, Presto, MapReduce, and/or distributed systems

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent degree(s), with 5-10 years of industry experience
