looking for someone with excellent customer service skills, ability to handle

sensitive and confidential situations. The right person must be detailed

oriented and possess strong organizational and time management skills. This

position requires someone who is a team player and works well under pressure

while making sure that duties are performed within the specified time limits.

The incumbent will process a high volume of referrals and pre-certifications

for multiple medical specialties. This

person will also be responsible for completing all referrals and precerts

according to the established protocol of the Centralized Services

Department. This person will also be

communicating information pertaining to referrals and/or precets to patient

clientele, external medical offices and internal staff as per company policy.The ideal candidate will have experience in

processing prior authorizations,

referrals, and scheduling appointments for some procedures. Complete

understanding of the concept for PCP and referral protocols as defined by

insurance carriers. A passion for providing exceptional customer service to all

of our clients, internal and external is essential for consideration. The

Referral and Precertification team is a centralized service; we serve as

Subject Matter Experts for our internal customers providing information and

assistance regarding difficult inquiries.Primary Responsibilities:

Obtaining referral and/or precertification forpatients for internal and external appointments or orders.

Scheduling and obtaining precertification forsome procedures.

Communicating information pertaining toreferrals and/or precertification to patients, external medical offices andinternal staff.

Conducting daily investigations to validatethe insurance eligibility of patients scheduled for upcoming specialtyappointments that require a referral.

Completing assigned special projects as neededthese can include but are not limited to research projects pertaining toinsurance company benefit guidelines and requirements.

High School Diploma / GED (or higher)

1+ year experience in a customerservice role, working with insurance verification and medical office procedures

1+ year experience working with priorauthorizations, referrals and scheduling appointments for procedures and an understandingof the concept for PCP and referral protocols as defined by insurance carriers

Microsoft Office Experience (Microsoft Word -Creating documents, Microsoft Excel - Creating and editing spreadsheets,working with formulas and Microsoft Outlook - Creating meeting invites and sendingand receiving email)

Soft Skills:

Ability to adapt to changing workflows, processes and work queues with strong time management skills, the ability to plan and prioritize and complete designated tasks efficiently

Ability to support team, departmental and organizational protocols, workflows, policies and procedures
