Full Time Job Opportunities:

Administrative Specialist in Palmer for the Administrative offices. The Administrative Specialist will be an enthusiastic professional with excellent attention to detail who will provide administrative and program support to the AFS team, as well as to clients. Additionally, will oversee social media efforts for the Agency. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Communications, Business, Fine Arts, Human Services or related and three years’ work experience in an office setting with proficiency in MS Office applications. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business, Fine Arts, Human Services or related and three to five years administrative experience. Familiarity with social media platforms, such as Facebook.

Case Manager in Palmer for the Domestic Violence/Sexual Assault Shelter (DVSA). Responsibilities: To provide resource information, referrals, crisis intervention, support counseling and education to residents and non-residents of the domestic violence and sexual assault program. To develop and implement, in cooperation with the Shelter Supervisor, life skills and support groups for all shelter clients. To develop and manage case plans that are responsive to the needs of all shelter clients. To support the DVSA program and carryout administrative/leadership responsibilities as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field and one year successful experience in a residential setting and one-year case management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Two years successful experience in a residential setting and one-year case management experience.

Case Manager in Palmer for the Family Support and Preservation Program. Responsibilities: Provide family support, preservation and/or family contact services to client families. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in human services, education, social work, sociology or closely related field and one year successful experience in family issues including; parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: One year additional experience background in family mediation, working with families in a home-based setting, and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.

Case Technician in Wasilla for the Work Services Program. Provide comprehensive assessment and planning services to ATAP clients utilizing established policies and procedures under the direction of the Program Manager. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Human Services or closely related field or equivalent experience and two (2) years’ experience in Social Services. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree plus additional related training. Four (4) years’ experience providing direct client services.

Eligibility Technician in Anchorage with the Child Care Assistance Program. Responsibilities include scheduling and conducting parent interviews for program eligibility, determining subsidy level and eligible/available funds. Create and maintain accurate and timely files for clients. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of successful work experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree with one year successful work experience in a related field.

Family Violence Intervention Program Coordinator in Wasilla. Facilitate and assist with the supervision of the Family Violence Intervention Program in accordance with the current CDVSA and DOC program standards. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and completion of approved forty (40) hour training on domestic violence, sexual assault and batterers’ intervention. Background in the behavioral health/ social services field and thorough knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence required. Experience working with victims and/or perpetrators of domestic violence. One (1) year successful work or volunteer experience in group facilitation. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Human Services or related field and two (2) years’ experience working as a domestic violence or behavioral health group facilitator.

Mental Health Clinician in Wasilla. Full or Part-time positions available. Responsibilities will include providing therapeutic services to clients. Conduct mental health/substance abuse screening, assessment and treatment services to clients within various treatment modalities. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a behavioral health field and one year of behavioral health experience. Preferred Qualifications: Alaska licensure and/or CDC certification with two years of behavioral health experience.

Shelter Supervisor in Palmer for the DVSA Shelter. Responsibilities include assisting with the supervision of emergency shelter staff and ensuring the effective execution of domestic violence and sexual assault services to shelter residents and nonresidents, including the 24-hour crisis line. Develop, implement, and supervise life skills and support groups. Create and manage case plans that are responsive to the needs of all shelter clients. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field and one year successful work experience in a residential setting and one year case management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Two years successful work experience in a residential setting and one year successful experience in case management as a shift supervisor.

Substance Abuse Counselor in Wasilla for the Behavioral Health Treatment Center. Full or Part-Time positions available Responsible for providing substance abuse treatment services in an outpatient program. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in counseling, human services or related field and the ability to become a qualified addictions professional within three years. Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in counseling, human services or related field and current certification as an addictions professional (CDC II, BHA II, NCAC I, MAC).

Part Time Job Opportunities

Advocate in Palmer for the DVSA Shelter. Responsibilities include providing support, assistance and advocacy to the women and their children residing at the shelter. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in appropriate area, or high school equivalency with one year successful work experience. Preferred Experience: Two years’ work experience or extensive volunteer experience with crisis intervention, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Program Assistant for the Special Santa Program. This is a recurring temporary position to assist with volunteer coordination, fundraising and execution of program functions under the direction of the Program Coordinator. Work normally begins in September and continues periodically through the beginning of January. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years successful work experience with coordination of events. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree and one year of successful work experience supervising others.

Visitation Facilitator in Palmer with the Family Support and Preservation Program. Responsible for providing supervised visitation, parent coaching and feedback to families enrolled in the Families with Infants & Toddlers Court (FIT Court). Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in education, social work, sociology or related field. One (1) year successful experience in family issues including; parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year additional experience in family mediation, proven parenting support services and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.
