An estate in Cherry Hills Village, Colorado is seeking a full-time, year-round salaried Assistant Estate Manager with an emphasis on gardening.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outside and is open to new challenges. Though much of the day to day responsibilities will be consistent from week to week, there will be new projects or issues which arise requiring flexibility and a creative problem solver.
Duties include:
-Day to day management of the property grounds under the supervision and direction of the Estate Manager. During the warm weather months, this will include lawn maintenance, fertilization and irrigation oversight.
-Planting and maintenance of annual and perennial beds on property.
-Assist with various tasks associated with an organic farm located on property. This includes but is not limited to soil and irrigation preparation, planting, weeding and harvesting of fruit and flowers. Once the summer season is complete, the candidate will assist with tasks associated with the end of the season and preparing the farm for winter.
-The candidate will work in a newly established orchard on tasks such as winter watering, pruning and harvesting.
-The successful candidate will be someone who is open to various tasks as they arise including but not limited to seasonal decorating of the property, installation and breakdown of outdoor furniture and snow removal.
-Household repairs and maintenance as needed.
Experience in landscaping and gardening is a definite plus for this position. Applicants should have a strong work ethic and ability to anticipate needs and manage time effectively. Must be able to lift, push, pull objects up to 50 lbs. regularly. Additionally, the applicant must maintain privacy and confidentiality at all times, as well as respect the appropriate boundaries associated with working for a private family.
The ideal candidate should have an even and steady personality. They should be able to make good decisions and ask for advice when appropriate. They should be proactive and take pride in quality work.
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position requiring some flexibility to assist on an occasional weekend or evening if the need arises.
Salary dependent on skills, experience and education.
