Primary Function :

The Mentoring Alliance Summer Camps Site Coordinator is responsible to recruit, train, equip and provide leadership and program supervision for Mentoring Alliance Summer Camps.

In addition, this position assists the Director of Summer Camps with program planning and maintaining strong relationships with strategic partners.

The Mentoring Alliance Site Coordinator builds and maintains relationships with the Mentoring Alliance Summer Camps leadership team(s), current summer staff, returning staff and potential future staff with spiritual and life guidance.

Minister of the Gospel

The Mentoring Alliance Summer Camps Site Coordinator is first and foremost considered to be a Minister of the Gospel. This position furthers Mentoring Alliance's religious mission by :

Following Jesus Christ and setting an example for others through their lifestyle

Exhibiting a passion for sharing the Gospel with others

Being willing and able to explain the message of the Gospel to kids and families of Mentoring Alliance

Being willing and able to counsel, shepherd, and disciple kids and families of Mentoring Alliance in a manner consistent with the Bible

Being ready, willing and able to lead or contribute to distinctly Christian activities (including, but not limited to, worship or staff chapel)

Recruiting :

Lead and attend local and / or out of town recruiting trips

Build relationships with local and non-local colleges

Interview and assist in hiring decisions

Communicate and update applicants through the process

Update recruiting platform with current information

Discipleship

Encourage summer staff to live as imitators of Jesus Christ through accountable relationships

Build relationships with summer staff that foster spiritual growth and character development

Maintain open communication channels with and between summer staff to promote a healthy culture and environment

Training and Equipping

Train all part-time staff on the mission and core values of MA, and train according to the MASC manual

Equip part-time staff on leadership styles and skills in order to increase their leadership capacity

Train Program Director / Assistant Program Director and leadership team(s) on roles and responsibilities as well as administrative duties.

Program Development and Implementation at Summer Site(s)

Ensure proper implementation of the 5 Priority Outcomes of MA

Provide a safe and healthy environment for children to thrive

Assist the Director of Summer Camps to develop program curriculum

Ensure Program Directors at Site(s) are implementing the program according to the plan that has been developed

Conduct ongoing evaluations of the program to determine its effectiveness

Developing innovative ways to grow the program of Mentoring Alliance Summer Camps

Administration

Oversee camp secretary in communicating necessary information to the CampSite Administrator to increase effectiveness of the CampSite software and database

Purchase and distribute necessary supplies to site(s) as specified in the MASC budget

Work with the Director of Summer Camps to recruit, interview and make decisions to fill staffing needs at the site(s) of MASC

Ensure accurate staff attendance records through camp secretary

State Licensing

Review and understand the minimum standards as required by state camp licensing

Ensure complete compliance with all minimum standards as required by state camp licensing

Manage staffing needs at each site in order to ensure compliance with licensing requirements

Keep a constant and open line of communication with the MASC assigned state inspector

Strategic Partnerships

Assist in maintaining positive relationships with parents, district administrators and other members of the local community.

Collaborate with outside agencies to enhance the MASC program

Maintain and build relationships with churches, colleges and universities to increase resources for finding potential staff

Education and Experience

Bachelor's or experience equivalency; related master's preferred

Ability to work with others

Excellent communication skills

At least 6 months experience working in a licensed camp setting
