Each 2 hours acquired as a copilot, an FAA certificated flight engineer on a commercial air carrier, or a military flight officer on a military air carrier may be substituted for 1 hour of flight time in meeting the minimum total flight time requirements). 1000 hours must have been as pilot-in-command, (Only flight hours acquired as pilot-in command are creditable). 500 hours must be in Multi-Engine Airplanes (Heavy multi-engine airplanes, i.e.,gross takeoff weight in excess of 12,500 pounds; Up to 250 hours flying time acquired in helicopters may be substituted). 200 hours must be in a Helicopter, (Up to 200 hours flying time acquired in heavy multi-engine airplanes may be substituted). 500 hours must be in a small airplane, (Airplane weighing 12,500 pounds or less gross takeoff weight). I have the appropriate number of flight hours. (You must submit supporting documents.) This position requires a current valid first or second class medical certificate in accordance with Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) regulations. I have or will obtain the appropriate medical certification prior to employment. (Must medical certification with application) Valid State driver's license. Fluency in the English language. No chemical dependencies or drug abuse that could interfere with job performance. High school graduate or equivalent. OPM Minimum Qualifications:In addition to meeting above requirements in order to qualify applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as: Experience with UH-60 A/L/M/V, OR, AH-64 D/E, OR HH-60G; Applying aviation safety requirements involved in the production, maintenance, and overhaul of rotary wing aircraft; Examining and evaluating the performance and activities of mechanics, repairmen, inspectors, and designated examiners for quality of work and compliance with Federal aviation regulations; AND Participating in flights of rotary wing aircraft that have been overhauled, repaired, or modified. Physical Effort - Work assignments involve frequent standing, sitting, climbing, bending, and working in cramped and awkward positions. Lifts items weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance, and over 35 pounds with assistance from another worker or weight handling equipment. Working Conditions - Works in lighted, heated, and ventilated industrial shop area. Work is at times performed in aircraft under conditions of heat or cold or outside in inclement weather, subject to electrical shop hazards and bumps, cuts and bruises, and hazards while in flying status. Occasionally, work in high places may be required. Required to utilize protective clothing and safety equipment in the performance of assigned duties; e.g., shoes, glasses, goggles, gloves, hard-hat.
