POSITION PURPOSEThe User Experience Intern, works hand in hand, often pairing, with other members of product teams to bring products to life.With an understanding of user needs and processes, the User Experience Intern, will enhance usability, create workflow efficiencies, and delight our users through the enablement of intuitive, cross-channel technology solutions. They will work with more senior User Experience team members to gain proficiency in research, information architecture, interaction design and visual design skills.This is a temporary role with potential to grow into a permanent position.MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES20% - Planning & Analysis:Uses critical thinking to approach problems and create solutionsCollaborates with senior leaders on assignments10% - Learning:Participates in learning activities around modern software design core practices (communities of practice)Learns, through reading, tutorials and videos, new technologies, and best practices being used within other technology organizationsIncreases business acumen by learning about other parts of the business70% - Delivery & Support:Learns to work as part of a team focused on designing solutions that align with end user needsGains proficiency in skills associated with research, information architecture, interaction design, and visual design by working on small-scale products within an assigned technical areaDesigns solutions based on research findings, user stories, user business requirements documents, and/or technical design documentsCreates designs such that information is easy to find, consume, and understandFollows the established processes, policies, standards, and procedures to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies and standardsNATURE AND SCOPETypically reports to the User Experience Manager or Sr. Manager.ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTSEnvironment:Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditionTravel:Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.Education Required: HSYears of Relevant Work Experience: 0 yearsPhysical Requirements:Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles. Located in a comfortable indoor area.
