Position DescriptionWhat does a great Data Architect do?You play a role in the definition of data management related strategies including data design, data integration, data governance, data quality, metadata management, and master data management. Working with the development community, you'll provide data architecture related expertise on a variety of projects and initiatives. You will be working in an Agile environment on a hardworking business intelligence team, delivering software solutions utilized by internal and external customers. Lead the development and execution of a data architecture roadmap for a new fraud and financial crimes product platform.

Be a key contributor to the program team and provide authoritative technical inputs based on data quality and integrity.

Influence projects/initiatives and make decisions related to data including data quality, data architecture and data management standard methodologies.

Develop and implement strategies for the development of data pipelines with a focus on cloud platforms.

Create and lead an array of data design deliverables including data models, data diagrams, data flows and corresponding data dictionary documentation.

Assist in leading the development and implementation of strategic data architecture initiatives around master data management, data quality, data management policies/standards, data governance, and metadata management.

Work closely with external partners to ensure alignment to data requirements that enable the development of quality machine learning models.

Assist in determining the effectiveness of existing technologies and processes in relation to the data architecture, create necessary implementation/migration plans, and recommend new solutions as required.

Find opportunities for sharing and utilizing data across boundaries, thus extracting maximum benefit from the data resource.

Basic qualifications for consideration:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.

8+ years of experience in data architecture principles, methods, techniques and technologies.

8+ years of experience in data modeling large, complex database systems (350+ tables), Big Data Platform Architectures, Distributed Databases

Experience with data modeling, design and architecture principles and techniques across master data, transaction data and derived/analytic data.

Experience across data-related disciplines and technologies, particularly for enterprise-wide data architectures, data management, data governance and data warehousing.

Experience with relational database design and structured query language (SQL).

Experience with data management tools, including enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools, data quality tools, data mapping tools, and data profiling tools.

Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse technologies (e.g., Business Objects, Netezza, Oracle, SQL Server, Informatica) Hands on experience a plus.

Agile SDLC experience.

Experience with at least one programming language used in data science (e.g. R, Python) including common data science toolkits native to that language.

Experience with structured or unstructured database types and query languages (e.g. SQL, MongoDB, HBase, Hive and Pig)

Preferred qualifications:

Masters/PhD. in Computer Science, Information Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or related field

Experience working with geographically dispersed teams.

Financial Industry experience

Experience with basic concepts of fraud and financial crimes.
