Sr. Accountant

DescriptionRobert Half Finance is looking to fill a Senior TAX Accountant position on a full-time basis in the Van Nuys, California area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. CPA a must.Responsibilities

Aid in coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors

Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP

Strong interest in continuously improving the automation of the accounting and reporting process

Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations

Prepare financial analysis on trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.

Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests

Manage Ad-hoc projects as necessary

Allocate and prepare monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis reports for management

Engage in various department-wide initiatives

Corporate Tax Compliance experience

Microsoft Excel experience preferred

Deep understanding of CPA

Current and relevant ERP system experience

Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

Familiarity with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required

Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Accounting experience in publicly-traded company a plus

Strong time management skills preferred

BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred

Vow to meet business deadlines

Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment

3+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience

Excellent written, verbal and social communication skills

Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
