Description

Provides professional and technical skills and knowledge toensure accurate and timely performance of microbiology services and reportingof results to responsible party.

Performs other duties as requested. Reports tothe Lab Manager and Director of Laboratory Services.

Qualifications

Possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provideaccurate, timely testing of clinical specimens, preferably in multiplelaboratory disciplines with strong background in Microbiology.

Good clinicaljudgment and problem solving abilities.Possesses additional technical expertise in at least one laboratorymodality.

Possesses skills inleadership. Good communication skills in English.

Bachelor’s degree in biological sciencespreferred.

One year internship in California approved programor equivalent.

Prefer 6 years of previous clinical laboratoryexperience in microbiology in a hospital environment.

Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientistor Specialty License.
