2D Drafter

Apex systems the 2nd largest staffing firm in the nation is currently seeking a a 2D Drafter to join our client’s team. This position is located in Menlo Park, CA, and is a great opportunity to advance your technical career with an industry leader!

Key Details of the 2D Drafter :

Location : Menlo Park, CA

Duration : 6 months

Core Functions : Mechanical Engineering

Technologies : NX, 3D Plastics and Metals, GD&T

Job Description :

Prepare models and detailed production drawings in Nx of individual parts and assemblies

Work Closely with product designer and / or cross functional teams to incorporate all requirements into the drawings

Technical Requirements

The drafter must have the skills and proven experience to perform the following tasks :

Proficient in Nx

Proven experience in designing 3d plastic and metal parts for various manufacturing techniques.

Good working knowledge of various manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, sheet metal stamping, forging, die casting etc.

Good working knowledge of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)

Basic understanding of bill of materials and parts lists

Desirable Skills and Characteristics

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

Past experience in making production drawings for consumer electronics in Nx

Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Able to work under tight time constraints to meet schedules and manufacturing deadlines.

Flexible with ability to work in a dynamic and rapid-paced workplace with minimal supervision.

Is located or willing to relocate to work from the MPK office.
