Full and part-time positions

Shifts primarly 3-11pm and overnight 11pm-7am 7 days x week

Saturday and Sunday 7am-3pm

Responsibilities of the Direct Support Professional II include but are not limited to:

Effectively implement individual behavioral support plans based on ABA principles

Utilize positive reinforcement and antecedent manipulation to increase appropriate behaviors

Ensures Individuals are safe, healthy, and living in a clean environment

Assists and supports in the planning, implementation, and documentation of programs designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, and personal needs of Individuals

Assists, supports, and instructs individuals on activities of daily living such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting, paying bills, grocery shopping, bathing, toileting and personal hygiene.

Accompanies Individuals on community outings, medical appointments, and other activities, as indicated

Must be willing to work with individuals who may exhibit challenging and/or aggressive behaviors

Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health California provides programs and services for adults with intellectual and developmental diagnosis. Located in Goleta, CA this position is responsible for ensuring the safety and environment of our clients. High School Diploma or GED; BA in a related field preferred.

Must have a minimum of 1 year experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities with a focus on behavioral health services

Must have or be willing to obtain upon hire:

Direct Support Professional Year 1 Certification by the State of California

Direct Support Professional Year 2 Certification by the State of California

Registered Behavioral Technician Certification by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board

The IDEAL candidate willBe empathetic, a team player, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, energetic, creative, understand the theories of behavior management and positive reinforcement, and represent yourself as a positive role model. Additionally, you must be able to successfully pass required clearances, complete required new hire orientation trainings, and have a strong passion for supporting individuals with special needs.Training and Supervision

Registered Behavioral Technician training provided - paid

BCaBA and BCBA practical experience and supervision available

Physical Requirements: Significant amounts of walking, sitting, and standing. Some lifting and/or managing resistance required related to applying physical intervention techniques upwards of 75-100 lbs. or more. Some repetitive wrist/hand movements, normal hearing and vision. Occasional use of computers and office equipment. Occasional driving of Devereux vehicles for business purposes. Ability to meet 100% mastery of Safe and Positive Approaches.Work Environment: Regularly works inside areas that are adequately lighted and ventilated. Some fluctuations in temperature. Use of Protective equipment such as latex gloves, facial mask protective eyewear, and gown. Possible exposure to blood-borne pathogens.
