This position will be a rotating schedule of inpatient and outpatient daytime care of our surgical oncology and hepatopancreaticobiliary patients.-On the inpatient rotation, the APP will be an integral part of the team of attendings and residents and will assist with inpatient care of our perioperative patients. The APP will help with rounding, bedside procedures, coordination of care between consulting services , the transition to the outpatient care, multidisciplinary rounds and participate in our educational conferences.-On the outpatient APP rotation, the APP will provide urgent clinic visits, independent clinics and support our faculty clinics. The APP will be encouraged to learn/perform bedside procedures and assist in surgery if so desired.We seek to provide comprehensive patient centered care with seemless transition between the inpatient and outpatient settings. We have an excellent team dynamic and work together closely on complex patients.You will have the opportunity to grow professionally as well, whether that be through teaching (APP students, interns), research or care improvement projects, we strive to keep you engaged. There are grand rounds, mortality and morbidity meetings as well as preoperative conferences for the surgeons and advance practice providers.General:Nurse Practitioner (NP): The Nurse Practitioner functions under the general Nurse Practitioner Standardized Process Protocol approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC). The Nurse Practitioner provides routine care and management of the patient with acute and chronic complaints, in collaboration with the supervising physician and through implementation of standardized procedures. Specific functions pertaining to the Service, Clinic or Department are established by the Nurse Practitioner and the supervising physician(s), and approved by the appropriate medical and nursing administrators, the IDPC, and the Stanford Hospital and Clinics (SHC) Medical Executive Board and Board of Directors.Physician Assistant (PA): The Physician Assistant functions under the general Physician Assistant Role Description approved by the Interdisciplinary Practice Committee (IDPC).
