Job Overview
The purpose of this position is to interact with the guests of the hotel and ensure they have a great experience while staying in the hotel and dinning in the restaurant. Restaurant servers are responsible for positive guest interactions with all guests of the restaurant being guests of the hotel or not. Servers are expected to be attentive to guests needs and anticipate needs when able. Servers are expected to have some basic knowledge of food and beverages.
General Responsibilities
- Sets the tables, and detailing tables to ensure clean and ready for guests.
- Staying updated on current menu choices, specials, rotating draft beers, and items that are out of stock. . . etc.
- Handle reservations, direct customers to their seats, assisting in drink selection, menu selection, including special preparations and communicating these to kitchen.
- Aware of allergies and understanding the severity of ensuring the customers safety.
- Understanding basic up selling techniques.
- Properly open and pour wine table side.
- Basic understanding of wine.
- Obtaining revenues, issuing receipts, accepting payments, returning the change.
- Performing basic cleaning tasks as needed or directed by supervisor. Ensuring that everything is ready for next shift and server.
- Cover shifts as needed to be a team player.
- Assisting with special events as needed.
- Adhere to grooming and appearance standards consistently.
- Understands and can communicate products and services available at the Hotel.
Job Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Experience:
- Must have At least TWO years of fine dining experience
- Previous serving experience required. Min two years
- Excellent verbal communication skills required.
- Positive interpersonal skills required.
- Must speak English fluently and be able to read/write in English.
License/Qualifications:
- Washington State Food Handlers Card
- Liquor Certification
