The Residential DSP supports individuals who participate in the residential program of New Vista, a Supports for Community Living (SCL) Waiver Program.

The Residential Direct Support Professional is a positive team player that promotes a culture of inclusion and participation.

Required Education and Experience

18 years of age with a high school diploma or equivalent;

21 years of age or older

Valid driver’s license, reliable operating transportation, and proof of auto insurance

Preferred Education and Experience

Experience working with IDD population

Essential Functions

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Residential Support Services / Respite

Assists and trains Participants in the upkeep of residences, including cleaning, laundry, and minor household maintenance.

Assists and trains Participants with personal care needs such as bathing, toileting, dressing, feeding, and grooming. Assists and trains Participants with meal planning, food preparation, and feeding.

Assists and trains Participants with budgeting and shopping. Training and supports should be provided as indicated in the Individual Support Plan.

Prepares daily documentation including staff notes, financial logs, activity logs, menus, self administration medication records, etc.

Assists in the assessment of individual training needs, development and implementation of training objectives, and participating as a member of the Interdisciplinary Team that formulates and reviews the Individual Support Plan.

Provides transportation as needed.

Enhances Participant community integration by encouraging age-appropriate community activities.
