POSITION SUMMARY

Welds metal components together; fabricates or repairs products according to layouts, blueprints, or work orders, using brazing and variety of arc and gas welding equipment.

Fluent in various welding processes, particularly MIG and Stick. Ability to travel and produce metal products according to specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential functions include but are not limited to the following :

Weld using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, in various positions (vertical, horizontal, etc.) using various types of welding (particularly MIG and Stick)

Use welding and fabrication expertise to assist with the installation, repair, and modification of conveyors and related equipment, and produce metal products according to customer or employer specifications

Use multiple welding machines to repair and maintain metal equipment and structures of various sizes

Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

Adhere to safety standards and ensure a safe work area

Perform housekeeping and general clean up duties

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Must be eligible to work in the United States

Minimum education level High School Diploma or equivalent

Prefer Associates Degree or education from vocational, technical, or business school

Must have at least 3 years of experience with material handling equipment, preferably within the conveyor systems industry

Prefer at least 2 years of conveyor installation, steel fabrication or welding experience

Must have a valid and current welding certification and successfully complete a weld test

Must be safety-oriented and have a high degree of attention to detail

Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential

Must supply own tools (a required tool list will be provided)

Must be able to complete the OSHA training course or hold a current, valid OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 card from an authorized trainer

Must be willing and able to travel frequently and to perform work at worksites locations throughout the U.S. for extended periods of time in order to complete projects Attendance and punctuality are essential

Excellent mechanical aptitude along with welding and fabrication skills

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and detailed drawings related to conveyor equipment and related machinery

Ability to use multiple welding machines

Basic electrical knowledge

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Good interpersonal and customer service skills

Ability to work flexible hours and to work independently

Ability to work 40-60 hours per week or more, as needed
