DETOX COUNSELOR (PART-TIME) (The Salvation Army ATS)

The Salvation Army Addiction Treatment Services (ATS) is seeking a part time qualified Detox counselor in the ATS Detoxification Unit. Under the supervision of the Detox Clinical Supervisor, the Detox Counselor is responsible for providing Detox clients with the clinical services necessary to realize a safe detoxification from alcohol and other drugs. Provides screening, admission, discharge, and referral services to Detox clients. Provides individual counseling and conducts alcohol education and skill building sessions designed to motivate the Detox client to seek treatment. Handle crises and client issues for all clients.

CSAC certificate or Masters degree in related fields, preferred; and at least one year working in a substance use disorder treatment setting, required. Position includes medication administration to clients. Prior medical experience is a plus, but will provide training. Need ability to work all shifts, including evenings, overnight, and weekends. Non-CSAC Counselors must be willing to work toward attaining CSAC. Experience working w/homeless a plus.
